Our House

When we go out, we use a boat.
Our house, it seems to have a moat.
When we came last winter, we didn't know,
For all was frozen and covered with snow.
Now it's spring and the trouble is clear.
All we can say is Oh My! and Oh Dear!

Except for the water, nothing is wrong.
The house itself is sturdy and strong.
So now all we have to do is wait
(Which is something I do so very much hate).
Wait till all's covered with snow and ice,
Then we'll sell this place for a very nice price.

An illustration for Our House.
